With regard to voting records of our state Representatives and Senators, the deeper issue is that this is pervasive across all of State Representatives and Senators, not just one in particular, not those in NCC, or those who are trying to “represent” the will of a majority in their district.  The bill Mandating Abortion Coverage is egregious - however, there are numerous other bills not on the radar that also undercut Republican principles and values, and the US and Delaware Constitutions.  ALL of our Senators and Representatives must to adhere to their Oaths of Office in which they swear they "will always uphold and defend the Constitutions of my Country and my State, so help me God.” They currently do not. Representing districts is not to simply echo the majority view - as legislators, the constitutionality of any issue or bill must be the base criteria. We are a Constitutional Republic.  There are 3 simple criteria that any bill should be weighed against: 1) Is it Constitutional? 2) Is it a good idea? 3) How does it get funded? The Freedom Index rates members of congress based on their adherence to constitutional principles of limited government, fiscal responsibility, national sovereignty, and a traditional foreign policy of avoiding foreign entanglements. It also rates legislators by state - it scores politicians by taking 6 bills from 2020-2022 session and and rates them on the Constitutional Correctness. It is not partisan - but you can guess how it goes. 1) Racial Equity Consortium - We Oppose. This is gross waste of taxpayer dollars. This embraces the liberal talking points and pushes Marxism and the woke culture. HB430 14/Jun/2022. Good: No 2) Grow Your Own Educator Program - We Oppose. This program grows the size of government by creating a new program, subsidizing a profession by propping one field up over the rest. Like most government programs, when money is involved, stings are attached and this is a bad precedent to set. HB198 17/Jun/2021 Good: No 3) Black History Education - We Oppose. Our government is pushing schools to teach racism through equity and race-based curriculum, which is rooted in communism and is part of the Marxist agenda. HB125 20/May/2021 Good: No 4) Ghost Guns (Ban) - We Oppose. It is none of the government's business what firearms you own and possess. The right of the American people to keep and bear arms is protected by the 2nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. SB6 16/Jun/2022 Good: No 5) High-Capacity Magazines (Ban) - We Oppose. The fundamental right of the American people to keep and bear arms is protected by the U.S. Constitution, particularly in the 2nd, 9th, and 10th Amendments, and should not be infringed. SB5 18/May/2021 Good: No 6) Automatic Voter Registration - We Oppose. Automatic voter registration could lead to the automatic registration of non-citizens or others who are not permitted to vote. SB5 establishes an automated voter registration system at the Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and confers upon the State Election Commissioner the power to execute automatic voter registration at other agencies within the state. The Delaware State House of Representatives passed SB5 on May 18, 2021 by a vote of 40 to 1. We have assigned pluses to the nays because automatic voter registration could lead to the automatic registration of non-citizens or others who are not permitted to vote. This compromises election integrity, opening the door for voter manipulation. Democrats rank mostly 0 on this scale of 0-100. And we come to expect it, but should also called out. The deeper and more surprising problem is while no Republican ranks 0, the highest ranks 67 (just one), the next 6 rank 50%, and the rest are less than 50%. That’s a problem.  [https://thefreedomindex.org/de/](https://thefreedomindex.org/de/) The U.S. Constitution and Delaware Constitution are not complicated. There are those that will tell you it is “complicated” and requires law degrees to understand. It is not. I encourage all to take part in one of Chris Rowe’s and Larry Mayo’s American View Institute on the Constitution classes on the U.S. Constitution; they have one on the Delaware Constitution. [https://theamericanview.com](https://theamericanview.com/)  These documents were written for common folks in the late 1700’s to understand - we can too :)  Since our the Legislature is fond of writing last minute bills in the month of June, how about our Republican Legislators craft a bill that REQUIRES ALL State Senators and Representatives to take a YEARLY refresher on U.S. and Delaware Constitutions. For some I’m sure it would be Constitution 101. As I understand, this has been offered pro bono in the past to legislators but there have been no takers. Based on their voting records, it’s clear they need it - we need it. And if such a bill does not pass, well, we have a record who would oppose it. Also, take a look at the Freedom Index at the federal level. A lot of detail, but worth taking the time as again, there are many more bills than the ones that make news and we should be aware of these usurpations. [https://thefreedomindex.org](https://thefreedomindex.org/) Attached are 2 PDF’s reprints of the latest U.S. Congressional Freedom Index: 1) Aug 2023: Our first look at the 118th Congress shows how every member of the House and Senate voted on key issues such as the bipartisan debt-limit deal, ending the Covid national emergency, and ESG. [[FreedomIndex-Reprint-AUG-2023.pdf]] 2) Jan 2024: Our second look at the 118th Congress shows how every member of the House and Senate voted on key issues such as continuing resolutions, abortion (House only), Ukraine (House only), and Covid vaccine mandates (Senate only). [[FreedomIndex-Reprint-JAN-2024.pdf]] We need more Constitutional Awareness and Constitutional Correctness.
